Contact Lenses at Eyeland Luxoptics in Aspen Hill, Chevy Chase and Rockville

Contact Lens on a fingerOur optometrists at Eyeland Luxoptics in Aspen Hill, Chevy Chase and Rockville offer contact lens exams for all types of refractive errors. We offer hard, soft and hard-to-fit contacts for the correction of nearsightedness, farsightedness, keratoconus and astigmatism.

Types of Contacts our Optometrist Offers

Our optometrist offers a large selection of soft and hard contacts for a variety of refractive errors. We are even able to recommend contact lenses for individuals with hard-to-fit eyes and who have dry eye.

Soft Contact Lenses

Soft contact lenses are extremely popular due to their comfort and ability to correct nearsightedness, farsightedness and mild astigmatism.

Hard Contact Lenses

Hard contact lenses also known as gas permeable lenses can offer better clarity than soft contact lenses because the lens does not shift or move. Hard contact lenses are effective at treating moderate to severe astigmatisms, nearsightedness, farsightedness and presbyopia.

Hybrid Contact Lenses

Hybrid contact lenses are extremely popular for individuals who need extremely clear vision but do not like the adjustment period associated with hard contact lenses. These lenses contain a hard center surrounded by a flexible soft material.

Toric Contact Lenses

Toric contact lenses are soft lenses that are weighted on one side to prevent rotation. These lenses are used to correct moderate to severe astigmatisms.

Scleral Contact Lenses

Scleral contact lenses are gas permeable lenses that have a large diameter. These lenses vault entirely over the cornea. They are recommended for individuals with keratoconus and dry eye.

Multi-focal Contact Lenses

Multi-focal lenses are designed for individuals who need more than one prescription. These lenses can contain vision correction for near, intermediate and distance vision.

Daily Disposable Lenses

Daily disposable lenses are soft contact lenses that are worn for one day and then thrown away. These lenses are preferred by individuals who do not want to worry about protein deposits on their lenses or storing their lenses overnight in a case.

Your Contact Lens Fitting with Eyeland Luxoptics

Our contact lens exams include a contact lens fitting with our eye doctor. After your eyes have been examined and your contact lens prescription has been determined, our optometrist will test one or more sample lenses in your eyes to determine the proper fit. Once the proper fit has been established, your new contact lenses will be ordered.
